Help a Neighbor in Need
Consider donating to help friends and neighbors in need with utility payment assistance.

Project DESERVE provides emergency assistance paying energy costs for people with a severe disability (children or adults meeting Social Security disability criteria), older adults (people 65 years or older) and income-eligible households.

As one of the first programs in the country involving a for-profit business and a non-profit agency working together to meet the special needs of people, Project DESERVE has served as the role model for similar programs around the country. Money for Project DESERVE comes from the Project DESERVE Trust Fund and Evergy employees and customers. Contact us at 800-383-1183 for more details on donating today.

Donate

To donate, click the first “Donate” option and add “Project DESERVE” to the Special Instructions box when prompted to donate.

Dollar-Aide helps eligible individuals and families by assisting with their utility bills in times of need to avoid loss of service. The program has helped thousands
of families in our community. To make all tax-deductible donations go farther, Evergy matches every dollar with an additional 50-cent energy credit donation. In
some cases, Dollar-Aide enables local agencies help people outside of their usual service area scope.

How it works:
Evergy matches every dollar donated with a 50-cent energy credit donation
We send donated funds to the Mid-America Assistance Coalition (MAAC), which administers the funds to local agencies
The local agencies work with those in need of funding for their heating, cooling and water bills

If you’d like to donate to Dollar-Aide to help your neighbors in need, visit MAAC’s website today. You can also send a separate check, payable to Dollar-Aide, with
your monthly Evergy energy bill payment, or mail a donation check directly to MAAC:
