How it works: Evergy retires Renewable Energy Certificates on your behalf.

Benefits: Flexible and easy to start, with simple monthly billing and no long-term contract.

Alternative Energy Credit Program
For: Businesses with qualifying peak demand

Match 1% to 100% of your usage with clean, carbon-free energy and receive certified Alternative Energy Credits (AEC).

How it works: Select a 1-, 3- or 5-year term.

Benefits: We certify and report your AECs through third-party verification for easy annual reporting or ESG documentation.

Directly support new local renewable energy projects with your long-term commitment.

How it works: Evergy allocates renewable generation and retires Renewable Energy Certificates on your behalf annually.

REC or AEC?

A Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) represents 1 megawatt-hour of renewable electricity generated and supports renewable energy claims.

An Alternative Energy Credit (AEC) represents energy savings or environmental benefits from efficiency or alternative energy measures and supports energy reduction claims.
